May 4th, 2008 - Sandy Spring Cycling Challenge
This year Global
Imports sponsored the Sandy Springs Challenge on May 4, 2008 at City Walk in
The Sandy
Springs Cycling Challenge is the first event and the proceeds are to benefit
the Sandy Springs Police and Fire Departments. There were many men's and
women's cycling challenges throughout the day.
We were honored
to have both BMW and MINI represented at the event as paces car for each
cycling challenge. Thanks to everyone that represented Global Imports at
the event, you really made it a real success. Also special thanks to
Dianne Fries who organized this years cycling challenge.

Throughout this special day, there will be an appearance by some of the Atlanta Dream, the new Atlanta WNBA team, other special guest appearances and a "Local Hero" award presentation to WSB-TV news anchor, JaQuitta Williams, for her courageous battle against breast cancer and the important work she has done to create awareness of all aspects of the experience from diagnosis through surgery and treatment.

Atlanta's first Ronald McDonald House opened in 1979, with 16 bedrooms and has hosted over 23,000 families. In 1994 a second Atlanta Ronald McDonald House was built with 11 bedrooms and has hosted almost 7,000 families.
The need to expand the local Houses has grown in the past several years due to the rapid growth of programs at Children's Healthcare Atlanta. One of the nation's largest and most trusted pediatric healthcare systems. Children's has nationally recognized programs in childhood cancer, blood disorders, cardiology, solid organ transplants and many more services for infants, children and adolescents.
